| Where Have All The Flowers Gone Steve died in my arms that night calling for his mother. I will never forget him for I have all ways carried him in my heart and mind. Saturday, January 15, 2000 ,,From Bill to Steve.. Child of Mine "I'll lend you a little time, a child of Mine," he said; "For you to love while he lives, and mourn for him, when he's dead. It maybe six, or seven years or nineteen or twenty years. But will you , till I call him back, take care of him for me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief, You'll have these lovely memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return, but there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn. But will you give him all your love, and not think the labor vain, nor hate me when I come to call to take him back again? I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done, for all the joy thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll take.. We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may, and for the happiness we've known, forever grateful we'll be.. But should the angels call for him much sooner than we'd planned, we'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand." Written by Jacqueline Penney 1967.. The price of war... We will miss you my friend... God Speed THIS PAGE IS DEDICATED TO A FRIEND OF MINE AND A COUSIN BY MARRIAGE. , STEVE DANIEL CAMPBELL THAT DIED IN VIETNAM |
