| TRIBUTE TO BRAVE MEN WHO FOUGHT
AT DA NANG IN VIET NAM by Evelyn Heinz We were three-hundred-thirty men Against two-thousand... Marching up the hill of Da Nang. Over hills and through dense jungle We and our buddies Marched right along. Though death was all around us And the moans of the wounded Filled our ears, We marched on and on, battle worn, But courageously, through a field Of all our tears. In battles such as this People don't realize What we go through When we fight. It is a test of personal courage And perserverance... That turns boys into men Overnight. |
| Dear Jackie,
Last night I watched a DVD about the battle of DaNang, in Viet Nam back in November l967. I was moved to tears and this morning I still had the men in that battle on my mind, so I wrote this poem. Evelyn |
